Owners of cafe icon 'Georges' are adding traditional Lebanese restaurant, Yababa, to their repertoire, where simple tried and true dishes are prepared with love. The brief was to create a space reflective of the traditional menu (warm and chargrilled to perfection), allowing diners to relax and enjoy the ride. We were responsible for interior design and branding. Elements of cultural patterns were incorporated into the timber screens and bar area. The open plan allows the coal-fired churrasco to be a striking feature, adding to the gusto and passion that these meals are made with. Finishes of wide timber boards, polished concrete and stone tiles create a balance of warmth and sophistication. The branding shows hints of Arabic brush script.
